Monument at Worldgate is a three building complex consisting of 620,000 RSF of office space, 680,000 SF above and below-grade parking for 2,226 cars. The design for the buildings operates at two distinct scales. The overall building massing responds to the scale of the Dulles Access road where it will be viewed by passing cars at high speed. The central portion and lower levels of the building respond to the pedestrian scale of the landscaped park in the foreground. The structure for two of the buildings is steel, the structure of the center building is post-tensioned concrete, both systems allow spans of 45 feet. The project was a collaboration with Hickok Warner Fox.
