Project Details
The Ethiopian Insurance Corporation, Ambassador Multi-Purpose Complex design competition submission was a collaboration between the US team of Nelson Architects, Lecky Design Studio, EG Eisenhower, and the Ethiopian team of K2N Architecture and Engineering. The site is a vacant 3 acre lot straddling the Kurtume River. The design concept is organized around four major program components; the 24-story Ethiopian Insurance Company office tower, a 30-story rental office tower, a 9-story Shopping Centre/Entertainment Complex and a pedestrian Plaza for a total of 1.4 million square feet. The Plaza unifies the building elements like many of the great plazas in capital cities around the world. Below grade parking fills out the lot.
